We drove around to the Devils Hole site which is fenced off where the rare pup fish live, we are unable to get down to see them. |
|
Lots of scientific equipment is there and barb wire is on the fence. Only 400 to 500 are left in this spot. Around the side of the mountain are two park rangers about to descend into the mouth of another cave to take a water table depth measurement. They are trying to determine if these two areas of water were once connected and later separated by a fault. We tailgated for lunch around 12:30 and watched the clouds move in. It was obviously raining in Death Valley so we returned to camp. We had hard rain on the way back and it was very muddy around our campsite, no sign of flash floods, we stayed in camp for an early dinner as rain tapered off. |
