We returned to Death Valley Junction for the show. Fire engines started arriving and the power pole behind Opera House was on fire, we could see flames and sparks.

The power was turned off but they told us that the show will go on! Marta Beckett came out with help using a cane and sat on a stool for her "sitting down" program in the dark. They brought in a four-wheel ATV and parked it at the door and used the headlights to light her up and flashlights to shine around her paintings inside the Opera Theatre. Her voice is very soft-spoken but she has a sense of humor and 84 recites her story very well.

She signed autographs after the program. As we leave the power pole is still sparking. Definitely an evening to remember. We drove back to camp and is still very cloudy and muddy, but not raining anymore. A long day, but we will get an extra hour sleep tonight.
