Tuesday, woke up at 0630 and had breakfast of cereal. Last night it was windy which kept Nancy up lot, Bryan slept very well though.

At Furnace Creek visitor center we got our passport stamped, bought a few souvenirs and mailed some cards.

According to the forecast the temperatures should be in the mid 80's with a 20% chance of rain. Right now it's 80.

We then headed to Aguereberry camp and Eureka mine to look around. Several builds remain but are seriously deteriorating. Peter Aguereberry mined $175,000 in gold over 40 years, and that at $20.00 per ounce!

Then we headed up to the Charcoal Kilns where it was windy and the clouds are moving in fast, the temperatures are in the low 60's. We found a few remnants of dried up flowers, possibly Panamint Daisies. The Pinyon trees and Juniper bushes have pinecones and berrys on them. They were also parasitized with a type of mistletoe.

Heading back down Wildrose Canyon, took the old road heading toward Panamint valley, stopped at the site of the old Wildrose Station and had lunch. We continued down the canyon after lunch and found a single Panamint Daisies in bloom! It was pretty ragged but it was definitely a Panamint Daisy. After taking about 100 pictures of this poor flower we continued on down the road into Panamint Valley where it started to rain. The mesquite trees are blooming with pale pink flowers.   We took the Indian Ranch road to Ballarat, this is a nice dirt road. We looked around Ballarat for a few minutes and then headed back into Death Valley via Townes Pass.
Back in Death Valley at 3pm where it was 85 and windy. We had a nice London Broil, mashed potatoes and vegitables dinner indoors as it was very windy! After dinner we went to the Furnace Creek Visitor center for the 7:30 ranger talk on the "Colorful Chracters of Death Valley". They talked about John C. Fremont, Manly and Rogers, Shorty Harris, Pete Aguereberry and Death valley Scotty and Albert Johnson to name a few. It was a good presentation. After that we headed back to camp and to bed.
