| 03/19/2007 | 6am Monday, we left Livermore stopping for fuel in Bakersfield. We then stopped at the Bakersfield Camping world. On to Panamint Valley for lunch at 2pm by the roadside to watch the fighter jets practice! It was a warm 84 degrees which increased to 94 when we entered Death valley. There are very few flowers so far. We camped at Texas Springs in site B18. Approximately 1/2 of the camping sites have now been converted to tents only. It was still quite warm at 6pm when we started to cook our hamburgers for dinner. After dinner we played dominoes and sat and enjoyed the stars for a while, it was too warm for a fire! Mileage after we arrived, 27221. |
