Borax Office Building Basement and Foundation in 20 Mule Team Canyon |
Last year we tried to locate the basement and foundation of the old Borax Works office. The building had been moved in 1954 to Furnace Creek and is now used as a museum. We had better information this year and quickly found the site. Notice how close to the road it is, we've driven right by it in years past and never knew it! The road is down real low and this is not visible from the road itself. |
Scotty's Castle |
We've been to Scotty's Castle many times in the past. We decided we wanted to go on the tour again, turns out they were doing special evening tours as a murder mystery on Tuesday night, that sounded fun so we made our reservations and headed to the Castle.
After the tour we were talking to a ranger, then the ranger suddenly said, "Hey, you want to something different" I immediately said yes! In the photo at the left you see the tower, you exit the tour on the 2nd floor and walk down the interior stairs of the tower, the stairs up are chained off. Well the ranger removed the chain and we got to climb up into the tower and out on the balcony! |
